Food for thought

Today, the art in my life is all food- lemon buttermilk cake, chocolate rum ganache (for the frosting), and lemon curd for the filling... and just because I had extra egg whites I made my favorite french treat- merengues and spiced them up with lavendar and chocolate.... mmmmm.

Fashion exhibit at the LACMA

A couple weekends ago we went to the LA County Museum of Art- the LACMA. We saw an amazing Fashion exhibit with actual period pieces from the 17 and 18 hundreds- amazing!!





After seeing this exhibit I bought several very complicated historical corset patterns... We'll see how they turn out. :)

Khaki corset

Justin wanted to goodwill an old pair of khakis. Instead I recycled them-





Notice the included frayed hem. There was plenty of fabric but I liked the character it adds.

New stripes

After doing 1 1/2 root canals this morning i Had the afternoon off to work on some new bunny and pear.
