These are some of the reasons I have to smile this week-
#1- I am home!!

#2- These are the vases for the centerpieces!!! They still have to be carved out. Going to be amazing!

#3- I get to marry this lovely man! Took our first dance lesson today. He's a natural!

#4- He roasted me the yummiest coffee he brought back from Nicaragua!

#5- Self- explanatory

Tomorrow morning I am getting curled and painted. The dry run for hair/make-up then meeting with the caterer. Lovely break!
Love!

Dress bodice options...

So, after searching and searching for Victorian French lace, finally finding it, spending several hundred on it... I hate it. After counseling my seemstress I scowered the garment district this past Sunday and here are a couple mock-ups I made with the materials I found. Feedback please! And excuse all the pins. :)

Blogatus

Hello blog world! I'm back. Spring break made me pull away from my cyberhood, but I aim to get back in touch with my inner cyber. These are a few of our Save the Date (STD) pics that Crystal Chanel and her darling husband Ivan shot for us in Silverlake. Can't thank you two enough! After excessive deliberation we decided on... I guess you'll just have to wait and find out. :) Ignore the scribbles on the pictures. Those were my lame attempts. My darling Liz saved the day by designing a proper STD for us. Love you Liz!

Succulent Wall

Brendon's Valentine's gift to Laura inspired me today- a succulent wall! It is in progress. It now sits for 4-6 weeks and can then be hung once it has a good root infrastructure. Fun day!

This little dress was one of my first creations. I haven't worn it since my birthday dinner at BJ's. (Don't make fun. It was a school night and they accommodate large groups.) My etsy store is going really well! I'm shocked and pleasantly surprised. I've had orders from 3 continents, which is more/less impressive when you realize I've sold only 4 skirts.
One of my skirts was featured on one of my favorite blogs last week! Thanks to Danni at ohhellofriend! Other grateful shout outs go to Jeremy Hong for his continual technical advice with etsy and paypal. That boy knows the biz! And as always thank you to my darling Ashley for her technical and creative support. It's so nice to have a creative outlet, to share it with others and have them respond so positively. Love to you all!

With the "cold" weather of late I've abandoned my beautiful wheel for the machine I sew with. I miss the feel and pull of the clay. Rain rain go away come. Soon the sun will come to stay. Happy weekend!

Upcycling

Recycling? Puh-lease! Do I look like I drink Coke? Upcycling has made thrifting even more fun! This dress was huge, had icky sleeves and a boring layered skirt. Snip off the sleaves, tie up some bustles, take in the bodice... New fave.
